Name: Ysabel Giraldo
Function: Assistant Professor
Research: Dr. Ysabel Giraldo is an assistant professor of Entomology at UCR who focuses on the neurobiology of insect movement and sensory processing. As part of CIBER, Dr. Giraldo will bring Drosophila genetic tools to honey bees to examine how stress-tolerant and stress-susceptible bees respond to odors and process this information in the brain. Other projects in the Giraldo lab examine flight behavior and visual processing in Drosophila, responses to altered gravity, and the impacts of pesticides on bumblebee flight.
