Research: I am Sakshi Watts, a Ph.D. Entomology candidate at the Center for Integrated Bee Research (CIBER), UC Riverside. My research focus is bee biology, behavior, and communication in the case of managed and survivor honey bees. Specifically, I am looking into the volatile-based social immunity in honey bees for a diarrheal disease caused by Nosema sp. Additionally, I am working on sound-based communication of defensive behavior among the hive members of honey bees.
